Boat & Tote

The second summer rolls around here in the Ocean State, we try to go to the beach as often as we can. Perhaps the only part of beach season that's harder than maintaining your beach body (honestly, who can resist Del's lemonades) is finding the perfect beach tote. This year, we finally found the solution to our beach tote woes: the Boat and Tote Bag from LL Bean. With straps so durable they can hold up to 500 pounds (that's a lot of snacks) and a double-layer base, the Boat and Tote bag is built to withstand both surf & sand. We prefer the large size, complete with custom monogram!

Serendipity by the Sea

Meet Serendipity By The Sea, the quintessential gift shop for every occasion. Located in the quaint seaside town of Marion, Massachusetts, Cecily Balboni has owned and operated the shop since it opened in 2007. As part of our summer adventure, we took a trip to visit the store and explore the coastal New England town. Cecily and Maggie immediately greeted us at the front door and guided us through the shop. They pointed out their latest arrivals and filled us in on the stories behind some of the local products, including the bright new addition of clothing to the collection of merchandise. Cecily’s main focus is supporting local businesses and has carried Kiel James Patrick from the start because she was attracted to the distinctive quality of out brand and our Made In U.S.A. pledge.

After trying on a few of the dresses, we spent some time riding bikes around Buzzards Bay, taking in the picturesque harbor view. We ended our tour with a sweet treat from Sea Dips, an ice cream parlor beside Serendipity By The Sea, which is operated by Cecily’s husband.

We really appreciated our time in Marion visiting Serendipity By The Sea and the chance to escape our busy schedules to spend time with a company that supports Kiel James Patrick. We always value the opportunity to build friendships through our business. If you’re ever in the area, stop by Serendipity By The Sea—they have a yacht of gifts to select from!

Friday the 13th

On Friday the 13th, the Kiel James Patrick crew ventured to KOA Campground in North Stonington, Connecticut.

A combination of a bonfire, s’mores, and scary camp stories along with the full moon, we all got to thinking it would be a great idea to create a murder mystery theme for the night.

We captured the legend of “Death by Prep” in a series of short videos on Instagram. The center of the show was focused on a well-clad villain armed with a harpoon and wearing a submarine helmet, Belstaff jacket, and Duck Boots. As the night continued, each Summer Adventurer was forced to keel over from the fury of the stylish slayer.

The rest of the night we spent exploring the campground and scheming up s’more “Death by Prep” videos for adventures to come!

Polo Match

We woke up early one Sunday morning and traveled to Connecticut for Serendipity Magazine’s charity polo event at the Greenwich Polo Club. The afternoon was one for the books—the weather, the food trucks, and of course the polo all made for a memorable Sunday spent together with the KJP crew!

We enjoyed snapping pictures and soaking up the afternoon sun with lemonade in hand. Everyone was dressed to the nines and the atmosphere was great for people watching. Spectators sat on blankets alongside the polo field wearing hats and bowties of all shapes and sizes.

Thank you Serendipity Magazine for inviting us to the polo match! We wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to horse around for charity to support Pegasus Therapeutic Riding.
